Heartland Equine Rescue, Inc., helps horses in Southern Indiana and surrounding states. We have two facility locations and two other satellite locations that are used for fostering or training. We take in any breed.
We will work with law enforcement on neglect situations, take in owner surrenders, and assist owners who are in need of placement or temporary help to care for their equine. If we cannot currently take in a horse, we have an owner assisted placement program for horses to go from owners to a new home at no charge to either party.
Our rescue has horses available for adoption and some that are still in rehab or training. Heartland also has those horses that due to age or medical conditions will remain with us for their lifetime. If you are interested in any horses that are still in rehab or training we can pre-approve you to adopt.
We are a 501c3 Organization. FEIN #81-5303414
We have no paid staff. We are strictly volunteers.
DID YOU KNOW HEARTLAND EQUINE OFFERS A "OWNER ASSISTED PLACEMENT" PROGRAM?
Please see the tab on our page for information. This is for owners who are looking to safely place their equine into a loving home. Heartland can help more horses this way as we do not physically take them in, and yet we will still use our application process and adoption contract for these horses.
